Life & Career Milestones
My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
I started out studying sculpture, video, and research based practices to create experiences that allowed people to think about the topics I was interested in in more creative ways.
2.
When I was in graduate school, I started experiencing a lot of health issues, which caused me to really start thinking about my health and diet.
3.
I took a leave of absence from my studies, moved back home, and built my own window farm out of two-liter bottles and an air pump.
4.
I learned more about plant physiology and growth, and then took over my basement to create a larger indoor urban farm.
5.
While working at a farm in Ohio, I met my eventual business partner who shared my vision of creating a year-round farm using passive solar technology.
6.
In 2017, we started Emerald Gardens Microgreens.
7.
In addition to Emerald Gardens, I’m also the co-founder of East Denver Food Hub, a social enterprise that supports local farmers and communities.
