Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
Mom mom always said I should be a news anchor because I liked to talk.
How I responded:
While I still don't know exactly what "I want to be, when I grow up" I make each choice- one step at a time, based on what feels right to me. I know that only I can live up to my potential and that is based on MY decisions.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I was raised by young parents, the oldest of four. My parents were Farmers who both worked extra jobs outside of the farm. Growing up, I didn't know we were low income, I always had food and a roof. This taught me to appreciate the value of things.
While my parents expected me to attend college, they had no idea how to guide me. I applied to the first college with a free application and went... I had a lot to figure out! But now, I proudly own my education. I did that all by myself!
