Life & Career Milestones

I've taken a lot of twists and turns

  • 1.

I was raised on a farm and learned to put others' needs before my own.

  • 2.

I loved being in 4-H where I learned to explore the world and be a leader.

  • 3.

Even though I had no clue what I wanted I went to college.

  • 4.

I decided to "pause" my education and joined Americorps NCCC.

  • 5.

I returned to college, to finish- and had to declare a major- still having no clue what i wanted!

  • 6.

I decided to do another Americorps Program with Boys Hope of Baton Rouge.

  • 7.

I looked for jobs "helping" people and just kept doing it.

  • 8.

I made a gigantic move and took a job that introduced me to Nicolet College and it's staff.

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Myself:

Mom mom always said I should be a news anchor because I liked to talk.

  • How I responded:

While I still don't know exactly what "I want to be, when I grow up" I make each choice- one step at a time, based on what feels right to me. I know that only I can live up to my potential and that is based on MY decisions.

Experiences and challenges that shaped me

  • I was raised by young parents, the oldest of four. My parents were Farmers who both worked extra jobs outside of the farm. Growing up, I didn't know we were low income, I always had food and a roof. This taught me to appreciate the value of things.

  • While my parents expected me to attend college, they had no idea how to guide me. I applied to the first college with a free application and went... I had a lot to figure out! But now, I proudly own my education. I did that all by myself!
