Day In The Life Of A Managing Partner At An EdTech Investment Fund

My Day to Day

Each day at JFF Ventures begins with a renewed commitment to drive economic mobility through innovative educational technologies. As managing partner, I am immersed in evaluating and investing in startups that arm adults with essential skills for career advancement. We focus on solutions that offer both soft and hard skills, primarily for low to moderate income individuals. My role extends beyond financial oversight to measuring the profound social impact our investments have on people's lives.

Skills & Education

Here's the path I took:

  • High School

  • Bachelor's Degree

    Economics

    UC San Diego

  • Graduate Degree

    Finance

Georgetown University McDonough School of Business

Life & Career Milestones

I've taken a lot of twists and turns

  • 1.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego.

  • 2.

After graduating, I wasn’t quite ready for a nine-to-five job, so I decided to backpack around Latin America.

  • 3.

I fell in love with the people and culture and decided to start a language school, exposing myself to entrepreneurship.

  • 4.

I returned to the U.S. with two years of experience and a passion for building businesses and economic development in emerging markets.

  • 5.

I knew I needed hard skills to build upon my life experience, so I went back to school for my MBA in finance.

  • 6.

I then built my career in economic development and impact investing, which also pulled in my passion for social impact.

  • 7.

Now I’m working as a managing partner at JFFVentures, an early stage investor that supports educational technology entrepreneurs.
